Congregant Leslie Neustadt, who recently spoke about her experience of becoming a writer late in life will lead a free workshop for attendees to write short pieces about how they feel about being Jewish at this time and/or some seminal experiences they have had. No prior experience writing is necessary. Leslie will create a supportive environment where all feedback is positive. She will also discuss the importance of sharing our life experience in written form, whether it is short pieces about our lives, sometimes described as flash memoir, or something more extensive. So often family members die and their relatives wish they knew more about their beloveds’ lives. It is also a way to document social history. One need not be an accomplished writer to do this.
